Marriage is one of the most significant decisions to be made in life. When done God’s way, it is a lifetime commitment. It is not for the faint at heart. Marriage, just like every life changing decisions, begins with preparation.
I once heard that God starts preparing you to be a Godly wife, when you first accept Him as your Lord and Savior. And if that is the case, He began preparing me over 20 years ago.
Throughout life I’ve seen couples I would consider to have good marriages, bad marriages and okay marriages. Viewing this spectrum encouraged me to learn how God created and destined marriage to be. As a result, my future husband has always been a subject of conversation with God. Think about it… Who is the best source for this information?
In October 2014, in typical fashion, I was talking to the Lord about him. At that moment, I was encouraged to begin writing letters to him. These letters would highlight my journey in preparation of becoming his wife, his good thing, his crown. At that moment, the journey began.
Fast forward to October 2015, when talking to the Lord about my future husband again. I heard the Lord say “the husband I am preparing you for requires prayer to maintain him. You can cook, clean and please him sexually; but I need you to maintain him spiritually.” What do you say after that? Nothing, you just start praying accordingly.
Dear Future Husband is a combination of letters and prayers to my future husband. It is a journey to two become one.
These letters offer me and opportunity to reflect on my evolution and transformation not just into his wife but into a Godly woman. For my husband, it gives him a firsthand insight to this journey.
My prayers are my petitions to God on behalf of my husband. Proverbs 31:11-12 says “The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.” These are prayers for me as his wife, the work of his hands, the labor of heart, his finances, his mind, his character, his health and so much more.
I want Dear Future Husband to encourage and give wisdom to the other women who are busy working, waiting in God, while being prepared by God. More importantly, I want people to know how wonderfully God works when you yield and submit yourself to Him and His perfect will.
Dear Future Husband is my innermost thoughts and affections for my future husband. It is the place where God, he and I meet, pre-manifestation
